Originally from Almada, Portugal, near Lisbon, Flávio Nazinho began playing football with clubs in his hometown. Between 2011 and 2017, he played successively for Monte Caparica AC, Leão Altivo, CD Cova da Piedade, and GD Pescadores, before continuing his development in the north of the country with Sporting Clube de Braga. After a season with the "Arcebispos" (the Archbishops), he returned to the Lisbon region to join the Sporting CP youth academy.
A professional debut in the Champions League 🇪🇺
He joined the reserve team in 2020 and signed his first professional contract on March 1, 2021. Initially used as a winger, he was gradually repositioned as a left back, where he established himself through his performances. His progress allowed him to be integrated into the first team squad coached by Ruben Amorim. He made his debut for the Verdes e Brancos (Green and Whites) on November 24, 2021, in the Champions League against Borussia Dortmund in a 3-1 victory. Wearing the Lisbon jersey, he played a total of 11 matches, alternating between the positions of fullback and wingback.

Meanwhile, Nazinho played for Portugal's youth teams, accumulating 23 appearances from the U16s to the U21s. On September 6, 2023, he was loaned for a season to Cercle Brugge, a sister club of AS Monaco. With the Groen-Zwart, the 1.78m left-footed player played 23 matches in his first season, scoring one goal. He actively contributed to the club's successful season, which saw them achieve their best finish since 2006-2007, ending in fourth place and securing European qualification.

Impressed by his performances, Cercle Brugge signed him permanently in the summer of 2024. The following season was marked by a historic run in the Conference League, culminating in the Round of 16. Since arriving in Belgium, Nazinho has played 94 matches, scoring 6 goals and providing 16 assists. Last season, he featured in 32 games, scoring 3 goals and providing 8 assists.
