Wissam Ben Yedder is your IQONIQ MVP against Montpellier
Scorer from a penalty, the Monaco captain was elected as your IQONIQ MVP of the match against Montpellier this Sunday, as part of the 7th matchday of Ligue 1 Uber Eats on the AS Monaco App.

He’s just scored his fourth goal in four games for the Red and Whites. After recording two assists with France in a friendly against Ukraine during the international break, Wissam Ben Yedder scored the equalizing goal on Sunday against Montpellier (1-1), as part of Matchday 7 in Ligue 1. The Monaco captain converted a penalty in the 70th minute of play after Gelson Martins was fouled in the area.

A big influence in the match

Despite a very tight Montpellier defense, who sat deep after the sending off of  Téji Savanier in the 19th minute, the French international (10 caps, 2 goals) still attempted two shots and above all delivered three passes before a shot, the best total for a Monegasque player in this match. Positioned a little deeper than usual to be involved in the game more, due to the very low position of Montpellier’s defense, the top scorer of AS Monaco this season (4 goals) also made four recoveries among his 60 touches.

Already having been named the MVP at Rennes, where he scored a sublime goal, and against Strasbourg, against whom he scored a double, the Red and Whites’ striker has again been honored by the fans of the club on the AS Monaco App. They elected him, with 42% of the vote, the IQONIQ MVP of the match against Montpellier. He follows Sofiane Diop, who was  best the best Monegasque player in the loss to Brest.
