Wissam Ben Yedder is the October Player of the Month!

Scorer of seven goals and two assists, the Monegasque captain had a prolific October and was rewarded by the Rouge et Blanc supporters on the AS Monaco App, being voted player of the month.

He was clinical and continues his rise in form. A scorer for the first time in the league during the last match of September in Reims (3-0), Wissam Ben Yedder remained on form through October. A starter each time, the Monegasque captain scored seven goals and two assists across all competitions, allowing the Rouge et Blanc to achieve a positive record of four wins, two draws and two defeats.

Plenty of high-class goals

These impressive individual statistics began with a hat-trick against Nantes (4-1) with his special, a chipped finish, for the first goal. He would then repeat it a few weeks later during a wild match in Lille (3-4). Before that, Wissam Ben Yedder also scored twice in the win against Trabzonspor (3-1) and delivered an assist for Breel Embolo’s opening goal in Montpellier (2-0).

His October finally ended with a masterpiece against Ferencváros that only a handful of players are capable of achieving. Upon receiving a low cross from Axel Disasi, Captain ‘Wiss popped up at the near post to score with a fabulous madjer off the opposite post, reminding us of a goal scored by Ludovic Giuly against Real Madrid in 2004 .

Ludovic Giuly in 2004? (Smiles) I remember that goal! He was a great player, and that was a time when I watched AS Monaco matches a lot. So I'm happy to reproduce this sort of finish.

Fifth-top scorer in the Club’s history

His 82nd goal in an AS Monaco jersey has him the fifth-top scorer in the history of the Club, only one behind Radamel Falcao and seven behind Christian Dalger to break into the top three. He’s already part of the top three in Ligue 1 after overtaking the Colombian (68 goals against 65).

He was voted match MVP three times – a record this month – and now Wissam Ben Yedder has logically been voted player of the month by you, the Monegasque supporters on the AS Monaco App, following Alexander Nübel. Congratulations Captain!
