Author of a complete match and his first goal since arriving on the Rock, Youssouf Fofana was elected MVP of the match against Real Sociedad (2-1) by the Rouge et Blanc fans on the AS Monaco App.

It was an evening that he will not soon forget. On Thursday against Real Sociedad (2-1), Youssouf Fofana scored his first goal for AS Monaco, a side which he joined in January 2020. And not just any goal, since it was one that gave Le Rouge et Blanc a victory and, with it, direct qualification for the Round of 16 of the Europa League.

“Regarding my first goal for Monaco, I was expecting it, but above all I remember that it does us good because it allows us to progress,” said the 22-year-old midfielder after the match. “The ball was coming and I told myself that I am ten centimeters from the goal, so that I have to do everything to score. I leapt, I used my head and when it went in it was a godsend because we went back in front.”

100% of his tackles and dribbles

In addition to his goal, the player who marked his 68th appearance for the Club played a complete match in midfield, with winning six duels won, completing 100% of his dribbles and tackles successfuly and making nine ball recoveries. All of this was more than enough to earn him the MVP as  voted on by you, the fans, on the AS Monaco App, with 51% of the votes. Congratulations Youssouf!
