Wissam Ben Yedder named MVP in the final match of 2021!

Wissam Ben Yedder named MVP in the final match of 2021!
Scorer of a penalty and once again the author of a complete match, the Monegasque captain was elected MVP against Rennes (2-1) by you, the Rouge et Blanc fans on the AS Monaco App.

And it’s five! After Shakhtar Donetsk (2-2), Saint-Etienne (3-1), Strasbourg (1-1) and Red Star (2-0), Wissam Ben Yedder was again voted MVP of a match for the fifth time this season by the Rouge et Blanc fans on the AS Monaco App, with 61% of the vote. That’s more than any other player since the beginning of the season. Against Rennes (2-1), the captain had a complete match.

Scorer of the equalizer from the penalty spot, his 10th goal in Ligue 1 since the start of the season, “Captain Wissam” has further improved his statistics. This goal indeed marked the seventh time that he has reached at least the bar of ten goals in the French top flight, and the third in a Monegasque jersey. By converting this penalty, he is also the player to have scored the most (11) in 2021 across the five major European leagues.

Only Radamel Falcao has done better in a calendar year

In addition to having been very present in the game (92% of his passes completed and 5 ball recoveries), he was also at the origin of the second Monegasque goal, scored by Kevin Volland. Wissam Ben Yedder has also now increased the number of goals he’s scored in Ligue 1 to 23 this calendar year. Only Radamel Falcao has done better in the elite in the 21st century in a Monegasque jersey (25 in 2017). So once again, bravo Wissam!
