He’s walking on water right now! Back to a very good level since the team’s victory against Paris Saint-Germain in March (3-0), Kevin Volland continues to be decisive. Involved in three goals (plus a penalty) in his last four league matches before the team’s trip to Saint-Etienne, the Monegasque number 31 once again was involved at Le Chaudron, scoring AS Monaco’s second goal in a  4-1 win. It was his eighth goal in Ligue 1 this season, to which he’s added six assists.

A goal and (nearly) an assist

The German striker, who was clinical to finish from Gelson Martins’ pass, also turned provider for Youssouf Fofana (2-0, 26′), when he could even had an assist himself.  He then found Ismail Jakobs with a brilliant ball in the 78th minute, as the German helped make it 4-1 by playing in Myron Boadu, who was perfectly placed. His fine ball to pick out his young countryan was thus key in sealing the result. Before that,  his pressure on Timothée Kolodziejczak resulted in a own goal against the Saint-Etienne defender.

55 goal involvements for Yedderland

One half of the duo Yedderland, who have now been involved in 55 goals this season (41 goals, 14 assists) in all competitions, he’s now been involved in at least one goal in four of his last five games in the top flight (3 goals, 1 assist), notes Opta. Author of his 100th league goal in the European Big 5 against Troyes, to give a victory to the Rouge et Blanc (2-1), Kevin Volland is going from strength to strength in this run-in.
